Dr. Walter Collins Will Edit Book on
Emerging African Voices

Dr. Walter Collins has signed a publishing contract with Cambria Press [www.cambriapress.com] for Emerging African Voices, a book he will edit and for which he will write the Introduction and Conclusion.

The book will include chapters on new and upcoming African authors born at or just after the independence of most African countries. A major component of each chapter will be the incorporation of discussion about the ways in which the particular emerging writer contributes to an updating of African literature or the ways in which these new writers re-inscribe and refocus traditional African texts written by long-established writers like Achebe, Ngugi, Nwapa and Coetzee.
